2024年1月9日，Gastroenterology（IF=29）撤回了英国谢菲尔德大学Iain David Croall等人发表的题为“Gluten Does Not Induce Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Healthy Volunteers: A Double-Blind Randomized Placebo Trial”的研究论文，主要原因是临床试验没有注册。

另外，在Gastroenterology 发表的述评文章“Will Science Sway Beliefs About Gluten?”也被同时撤回。

应总编的要求，这篇文章已被撤回。经调查，确定该试验不符合Good Clinical Practice指南。虽然作为一项随机对照试验发表，但作者报告说，该试验没有注册。
